Application Support Analyst

Job Overview
The Applications Support Specialist will be responsible for providing support to various applications and end users to train and enable them to utilize computer applications efficiently and effectively to fulfill business objectives. Responsibilities include troubleshooting applications and software for all internal business units, such as Purchasing, Accounting, Payroll, Sales, etc. The Applications Support Specialist will also act as a liaison between end user and programmer to facilitate a resolution and perform business analysis for IT projects and tasks as needed to help develop new applications and maintain existing ones. He / She will also provide end user training and documentation as required as well as testing of new or modified applications.
Perform System Monitoring and receipt of Monitoring Alerts.
Implement effective problem solving issues and manage escalation of issues to appropriate parties involved including updating the internal NYRA team.
Answer business user requests that require technology related intervention.
Design and implement in-house support tools to enhance the support functionality
Create help manuals for existing and new programs.
Assist enterprise applications team to optimize application performance and functionality
Assist enterprise applications team on project related tasks
Identify and recommend solutions and customizations to meet client requirements
Develop testing strategies
Change Management: including system testing, scrutinizing release documentation, ensuring release controls have been adhered to, and execution of releases to the production environment.
Assist NYRA's customers to resolve any issues related to mobile application.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of four years of experience in a technical support role.
Knowledge of the following technologies: Mobile App, Web Interfaces, Systems Integration, and solutions such as Point of Sales and Data Warehouses.
Prior experience providing application support to broad business and technical groups;
Experience training users on new application features and functionality;
Proven experience managing and monitoring applications for successful integration;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Self-motivation and capability to work with minimal supervision;
Leadership skills and ability to take initiative.
System wide knowledge of the environment including dependencies of third party systems.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication
High attention to detail
NOTE: This job requires working a racing schedule, Tuesday to Saturday, and being able to work at both Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
