Financial Analyst

Job Overview
Assist the Chief Financial Officer in significant development projects for the New York Racing Association. Analyze and project the impact of business strategies as well as evolving economic and competitive conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain financial models for capital projects, including ROI and payback analyses
  • Maintain project proforma(s); integrate actual, budget/forecast data, and planning assumptions to facilitate and support timely, accurate, and informed decision-making.
  • Become familiar with deal terms and covenants, including financial, operating, and development requirements to identify contractual impacts of business decisions and communicate as appropriate.
  • Monitor financial health of projects and work closely with operations teams to proactively address financial challenges at the program level as necessary; ensure compliance with loan covenants and report on relevant metrics.
  • Perform sensitivity analyses with different scenarios of interest rates, cash flows, development costs, operating costs, and other variables to understand and communicate impact.
  • Work closely with operations team to ensure construction/development and property management projections are achievable and well-considered; identify and advise on potential risks and opportunities impacting the program.
  • Perform analyses to determine and recommend possible solutions for potential cash flow and debt coverage issues.
  • Financial modeling for reporting and compliance.
  • Participate in construction closeout processes to ensure all financial and legal requirements are met.
  • Support planning efforts across the portfolio including periodic forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Support projects with their needs for scope changes, ongoing and ad hoc reporting, budget reviews, site visits, and proforma analyses as needed.
  • Create financial models and various sensitivity analyses regarding existing program expansion to evaluate, identify, and measure opportunities for value creation.
Qualifications
  • BachelorÔ s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Large construction project experience preferred
Knowledge Required:
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Project
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills, sound judgment and the confidence to take initiative;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
