Senior Database Developer

Basic Accountability and Responsibility:The Sr. Database Developer position plays a key role in the organization. The Sr. Database Developer will acquire and maintain a high level of knowledge about how the business works and must develop highly effective working relationships with all members of theteam. The Sr. Database Developer is responsible for working with the Applications Development and the business departments. The candidate will help identify business requirements, develop information models, and design advanced SQL queries and reports.Essential Functions:This position will be responsible for designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance, establishing best practices,and working with other developers in optimizing SQLqueriesas necessary for applications. This position will be required tohelp solve all database issues, recommend ideas, advise and execute solutions in order to avoid such problems in the future.Responsibilities:?Develops, designs and implements advanced SQL queries to improve operating efficiencies, reduce costs and meet the business needs.Translates business requirements into technical specifications anddata models.Collaborates with application developers on data modelling and ER diagrams.Designs advanced SQL queries and database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers and cursors.Creates, maintains, modifies, troubleshootsand optimizes SQL Server database queries.Demonstrates extensive SQL query writing skills to support critical business needs.Assist end-users with reporting needs using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)Crafting and executing queries upon request for data through visualizations and/or reports for requested projectsResponsible for ETL data conversion and data migration projects using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).Prepare business documentation and specifications for IT operations.Work with business partners and establish a high level of trust.Candidate should understand, incorporate and follow NYRA s Shared Values and the following Supporting Behaviors:1. Motivates and Empowers Minimum Requirements: Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalentExperience: At leastfive years ofexperience in SQL programming.Other (certifications): Microsoft certification preferredKnowledge Required:Experience designing and implementing new databases in MSSQL 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016 and a broad understating of relational databases.Experience writing advanced SQL queries, analyzing and optimizing queries and stored procedures SSIS packages and SSRS reportsBroad understanding of software development and web technologies.Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.Strong attention to detail and time management skills.Strong analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills tocollaborate with IT staff, business users and executives.Previous experience with .NET, Tableau, PowerBI, Datawarehouse, Multi-Dimensional data, and SQLServer Analysis Services (SSAS) and Cubes is preferred. - provided by Dice

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
